New scientific paper on R.E.M.S.: “Radiofrequency Echographic Multi Spectrometry for the prediction of incident fragility fractures: A 5-year follow-up study”

New recognition obtained for R.E.M.S. (Radiofrequency Echographic Multi Spectrometry): the new scientific publication in Bone, one of the most prestigious journals in the bone health field.

This represents another important result in the fracture risk prevention and in bone quality evaluation.

The document states that “R.E.M.S. T-score resulted an effective predictor of the occurrence of incident fragility fractures in a population-based sample of women, representing a promising approach to enhance osteoporosis diagnosis in the clinical routine. R.E.M.S. T-score could be also a suitable parameter to be integrated in fracture risk prediction tools like FRAX and DeFRA in order to increase their effectiveness.”

The ability of R.E.M.S. technology in the identification of patients at risk of incident osteoporotic fractures by estimating T-score values has been investigated during a 5-year follow-up study. R.E.M.S. T-score resulted an effective predictive factor for the risk of osteoporotic fractures in a representative sample of subjects, even higher than the Gold Standard DXA.

A recent publication in Bone pushes towards further clinical developments aiming to prevent bone diseases for the benefit of the health of the entire population.
