Osteoporosis World Congress. Echolight flies to Barcelona

REMS technology will be featured in a major symposium on fragility fracture prevention at the World Congress on Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis and Musculoskeletal Diseases. The company will be located at stand no° 24.

After two years of editions in virtual mode due to the pandemic, the WCO IOF-ESCEO, the most important international conference in the world dedicated to Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis and Musculoskeletal Diseases, is back in attendance. From May 4 to 7, 2023 Echolight will also be among the exhibitors at the CCIB Congress Center in Barcelona, at booth 24.

In the very rich scientific program, defined by the members of the Committee of Scientific Consultants of the International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF) and of the European Society for the Clinical and Economic Aspects of Osteoporosis and Osteoarthritis (ESCEO), the Breakfast Symposium stands out entitled “Bone status assessment with REMS: an update on fracture risk prediction”, scheduled for Saturday May 6th from 8:00 to 9:00 AM in auditorium B of the Barcelona International Convention Centre.

Symposium program

The assessment of bone status through REMS diagnostic technology and the consequent possibility of preventing the risk of fracture will be the main topic of the scientific event on Saturday May 6th starting at 8:00 AM.

After the introduction by the Chairmen of the Breakfast Symposium Prof. Giuseppe Guglielmi, Full Professor at the University of Foggia and Director of the Radiology Department at the “Dimiccoli” Hospital in Barletta, five technical reports are scheduled:

– Evaluation of fracture risk using REMS in primary and secondary Osteoporosis, by Prof. Carmelo Messina, Associate Professor at the University of Milan and Radiologist at IRCCS Galeazzi Orthopedic Institute;

– REMS for the assessment of bone quality and density, by Dr Giovanni Adami, Surgeon Specialist in Rheumatology at the Rheumatology Department of the University of Verona;

– precision, repeatability and diagnostic accuracy of REMS technology, is the topic on which Prof. Adolfo Diez Perez, Emeritus Head of Internal Medicine at the Hospital del Mar (Barcelona, Spain) will report;

– the report of the Polish experience on the use of REMS in clinical routine, by Prof. Piotr Leszczyński, Full Professor at the Department of Rheumatology, Connective System Diseases and Immunotherapy for Rheumatological Pathologies at the Jozef Strus Hospital in Poznan, the Department of Internal Medicine in Poznan and the University of Medical Sciences in Poland.
